hitting the radio jackpot
Now, I never listen to the radio very much, only when I'm driving really. And now that I have my Ipod, I usually listen to that in the car. But when I do have the radio on, I constantly surf through all the radio stations so that I can make sure I am listening to the best possible song that is on the radio at that moment. It's generally an older song that I've always liked, or a new single I'm into. But every now and then a glorious thing happens, something I like to call "hitting the radio jackpot."
I have hit a few memorable radio jackpots: last summer, for instance, I tuned to 96 Rock just in time to catch a triple shot of Led Zeppelin. That was a glorious moment indeed. Any time a station busts out the Led is a fine time.
But today, oh today, I hit the jackpot indeed. While conducting some errands, I tuned to Dave FM, and what should I happen to hear but... the B52's "Rock Lobster." It. Was. Awesome. Playing that song almost makes up for the station's dumb name.
